Salinas Properties

The Salinas Project is located approximately 100 kilometres north of its Itinga Project (Bandeira and Outro Lado lithium deposits), within the lithium-rich Araçuaí Pegmatite District in the northern region of Minas Gerais State, Brazil.

Lithium Ionic acquired the Salinas Project in March 2023 through the acquisition of Neolit Minerals. It began a drilling program in May of the same year to assess and delineate multiple outcropping spodumene-rich pegmatite (SRP) bodies identified by surface sampling and drilling in 2022 during Neolit’s exploration program. Initial drill results, issued in July 2023, were announced in this press release.

The Salinas properties, located in the Curralinho pegmatite field of the Araçuaí District, cover areas with the best geological and metallogenetic features to prospect SRP deposits like those found in the Itinga Project (Bandeira, Outro Lado), as well as those mined in the CBL’s Cachoeira mine and Sigma Lithium Corp.'s deposits.

The SRP bodies found in the Salinas Project extend directly east from Latin Resources’ Colina lithium deposit, which is reported to contain 63.49Mt grading 1.31% Li2O.
